Pro-Tip: Before updating the firmware on the MD-2017, follow the steps below. Otherwise the radio screen will appear scrambled:

1. Turn Radio off.
2. Push and hold orange button on top of radio and the PTT button
3. Turn radio on. Note: Light on top of the radio will blink different colors and nothing will be on the screen. This is firmware update mode.
